EmployLaw Group LLP is celebrating its first anniversary, marking a year of growth, service and a continued commitment to helping California employers navigate an increasingly complex employment law landscape.
Founded by Partners Jamie N. Stein and Ryan Haws, EmployLaw Group was built around a straightforward mission: to educate and protect California employers before, during and after employment disputes.
One year later, that mission continues to shape how the firm serves businesses throughout the state.
Connecting Litigation Experience with Proactive Employment Counsel
EmployLaw Group is exclusively dedicated to representing employers, with Stein leading the firm’s litigation practice and Haws leading its advice-and-counsel practice.
While those practices address different stages of the employment relationship, they are intentionally connected.
The firm’s active litigation experience provides insight into the arguments, theories and interpretations being raised in current employment disputes. That perspective can then help inform the proactive guidance provided to employers as they make everyday workplace decisions.
For clients, the goal is not simply to understand what California employment law requires today. It is also to understand where potential risks may be developing and, when possible, address those vulnerabilities before they become disputes.
Supporting California Employers at Every Stage
During its first year, EmployLaw Group has grown to serve several hundred companies across a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, home health, agriculture, professional services, construction, nonprofits, hospitality and aerospace.
The firm assists employers with day-to-day employment counseling, wage and hour compliance, workplace investigations, employee classification, harassment and discrimination prevention, supervisor training, employment agreements and policies, and other workplace matters.
When disputes arise, EmployLaw Group defends employers in wrongful termination, retaliation and discrimination claims as well as wage-and-hour, class and PAGA litigation.
The firm has also expanded its team, added senior and support staff positions and opened an office in Thousand Oaks as it continues to grow its presence throughout California.
Education as a Form of Risk Management
Employer education has been a central part of EmployLaw Group from the beginning.
In addition to counseling individual clients, Stein and Haws regularly speak to business and human resources audiences and participate in programs designed to help employers better understand California employment law and emerging workplace issues.
The philosophy is simple: employers are better positioned to make informed decisions when they understand not only what they should do, but why.
That emphasis on practical education, accessibility and proactive guidance will remain central to the firm as EmployLaw Group enters its second year.
Looking Ahead
EmployLaw Group enters year two with plans to continue growing its team, client base and geographic reach while finding new ways to educate and prepare California employers for evolving workplace laws and litigation risks.
The firm’s underlying approach, however, remains unchanged: provide clear advice, purposeful action and practical legal guidance that helps employers make informed decisions and protect their businesses.
